About Me

Hi there, I'm Zochil Eagan

I am a paraeducator. I have been a teaching assistant for over 10 years and have special education experience in preschool, elementary and middle school.  I have worked with children from various diagnoses like autism, cerebral-palsy, spina-bifida and down syndrome.

Teaching Philosophy

I believe all children are unique and must have a well rounded educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my passion to create this type of support to students. I will assist students to express themselves and accept themselves for who they are, as well embrace their full potential.

I aim to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom each day. I believe that I owe it to my students, as well as the community, to bring consistency, diligence, and warmth to my job in the hope that I can ultimately inspire and encourage such traits in others

Family

I know most students don't believe I have a life outside of the school, but I do. I live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago with my amazing husband and our 4 children. During our free time we love to go to the park, take short hikes, bowling and hit the arcade.

Hobbies

I’m always learning.  Currently I’m learning to garden and developing my green thumb as well as family prepping. I love to take pictures on my DSLR and designing on Canva. I also love to read and blog. If you are interested in starting a new hobby, you should consider blogging.
